Hanko island defence (22.06.41-02.12.41)

Defenсe Hanko peninsula 22.6-2.12.41, battle actions Soviet Baltic navy with the purposes of a defense of the Finnish gulf and distant approaches to Leningrad. Into structure Military Navy Base entered garrison (27 thousand man), coastal and anti-aircraft guns (35 guns of calibre up to 305 mm), air-group (20 aircrafts), 7 boats, 16 auxiliary ships. After Tallin capitulation the Soviet High Command has decided to evacuate garrison. From 23.10.41 till 5.12.41 22 thousand heroic defence of Hanko peninsula with arms and engineering were delivered in Leningrad.
